While I don't think that a camera company running a rumor site is that unlikely, not sure about Canon and Canonrumors. Canon rumors has had some articles/posts over the past year that led to a lot of disappointment and I'm not sure why Canon would do that.
This article has been removed but it was a CR3 report that Sigma was going to release 3-5 lenses for the RF mount in 2022. As soon as the whole Viltrox legal fiasco happened, the article was removed and replaced with this article: https://www.canonrumors.com/dont-expect-any-third-party-autofocus-lenses-in-the-near-future/

Not sure why Canon would send these out knowing they were incorrect and would disappoint people (who shouldn't have expected something from a rumor to be absolutely of course)
