Re: Adobe Creative Cloud price increase

I just got a notice from Adobe for renewal of my Photography Plan for next year. The price will remain the same, $9.99 per month for USA. It is remarkable that Adobe hasn't increased the price at all since they first moved to the subscription model years ago.

I was an ardent "nay-sayer" back in the whole "must update" debacle. I expected and projected Adobe to raise their prices to $12 or $15 / month within 3-5 years. Here we are more than a decade later, and nope ... no increase (on the Photographer Plan).

McDonalds has raised their prices. My insurance premiums have gone up. Bread, milk and hamburger all up. Gas is up, Netflix is up, and the list goes on.

So ... even if they do (I don't want them to), I don't think a reasonable understanding of inflation can argue with a modest increase. Folks all thought they were gonna gouge us badly. From what I can see of the Photography Plan ... they have not done that.

That said, if someone wants to read the forward looking statements in SEC documents for Adobe, there may be some discussion regarding the number of subscriptions (i.e. increasing, tapering, etc.) as it relates to their revenue stream, and whether or not they see that as stable, or they forecast a need (to their investors) to raise prices on subscription(s).

But, at present ... $9.99 has been rock steady throughout the life of their PP subscription model. Really ... that should be in comparison to what the rest of the world has been doing to the Joe Average Consumer. Now, if they've raised their pricing on some of their more professional oriented services ... (i.e. B2B-ish), I think that gets looked at in a different light. But, the masses of consumers were worried, and their fears didn't come to fruition of their concern.

Yup ... I was wrong.
