I think that you are right-on about all these points of the Hasselblad X1/2D and XCD lenses. I only have the lowly X1D but feel it was more than adequate to use as a travel/city&street one lens-body replaying my venerable Leica M9. The files are very flexible for editing but I rarely need to do any PP on these files. Here are few street snap shots from this evening in downtown Strasbourg.
