I think this lens would be an exercise in frustration for me. No AF, no IS, no auto exposure would send me back to my film days which I don't care to relive. It does appear to deliver good results for its $329 price point. However, with the RF100-400mm regularly dipping below $500 it isn't a big stretch to buy it over this lens and in return one gets Canon's best AF, IS and auto exposure. It is a decent lens and will work well for many people who want to dabble in super telephoto shooting without breaking the bank.
