Wow, finally - hope that is true. That would likely mean mid-late July availability.
I'm first on the preorder list at my LCS for the 180-600/200-600.
The 70-180 is obviously a Tamron design (probably the existing one), and will probably be very affordable. It's actually quite a good lens already, and for anyone who only needs a ~70-200/2.8 style lens occasionally or not as a workhorse, it's a fantastic option to have.
I doubt the Nikon 200-600 is a Tamron design, especially since there is no Tamron equivalent. Nikon's 200-500 was their own design as well. It also just seems like it would be a very odd lens to 'farm out' the design for. At the end of the day though, if it performs well, I couldn't care less whose design it is.
