I once took both the g9 and panasonic 100-400 along with the a9 and the 100-400 on a trip to Hokkaido for nature. Whether it was close semi macro or birds, I enjoyed the a9 images more and ended up selling the g9. Also, being completely silent in nature allowed wildlife to get super close to me.
I've found that the big white Sony lenses scare off the local birds long before they get to hear the shutter sounds... although I can always set the G9 to silent shutter if need be. Unfortunately, the bird eye detect doesn't work in silent shutter mode on the E-M1X.
