The EF-s 60/2.8 macro has a proper motor. The other ones in the range, no. There's only two of them, anyway (Canon and Sigma). There are longer Sigmas (70mm) but the old one also has a slow buzzer for AF and the new one is an unknown value, never seen any reports on it.

Maybe a crop body and the 35 macro are yhe way to go if you need a 50ish equivalent for closeups. Canon probably thought no one really needs a "serious" short macro so the 50CM was never updated, and when they decided to have something they shifted the niche down into the EF-s range.

You may want to look into regular (but close focusing) 50s and add extension tubes depending on how much magnification is needed. The Tamron 45/1.8 that I have focuses very close, down to 1:3 at the very least.
