 Great Horned Owl Nest Update | |
I visited the owls yesterday and as soon as I came close to the nest a woman walking her dog saw told me that the chicks were doing well in there new nest. I asked if she had seen them feeding as I was concerned that the parents need to accept the new nest and she said the farther was at the nest at sunset the day before and mom there early morning and both were feeding the chicks. I thanked her for the good news and then she volunteered the location mom was watching the nest from. I made a quick visit to the nest taking a few photos of the chicks and not enjoying the man made nest so I headed to where mom had been observed. I found a few friends taking her photos and I joined in. Conditions were tough as there was no way to get the sun behind me so I had to shoot into the bright sky which had thin clouds most of the time.
