Re: Sony 24-105 is creating a problem | |
I have placed an order for this, though i have been reluctant. There is no denying the convenience the standard zoom brings and i have decided to check it out.
Fortunately for me, i had still not gone 16-35/4 or Lox21+CV 15 route, so there was a place for 24-105 in my kit. I can easily shoot at 24 and basically don’t need wider than that, have never shot wider.
I am selling my 28. I don’t need fast wides but i need fast standard prime and also a tele. So Keeping CV40 for wide open moderately wides and for MF experience. Keeping my 55 also. For short tele, i have 135 F2 on MC-11.
Like you i also iwn a RX10 but its a keeper, does everything. I have shot bracketed landscapes with it which are very very good so no selling, also its a very different concept, carry everywhere do it all type.

That's what I fear as well and held off ordering the lens uptil now. When I bought A7rIII, I thought to myself that I'll only using it with small primes and keep the RX10 IV for zoom duties. So my current kit is 28, 35, 55 and 85 but with 24-105 F4 on order, I might end up selling 28, 35 and 55 and just keep 85 for portraits. But then do I sell RX10 IV ?

The problem is, I am using it so much my wonderful landscape primes are getting neglected.

I think I'll go for a walk in the beautiful snow today and just take a few primes with me and leave the zoom behind.
