Ciao Vieri. Molto bene! Eccellente! Bel cielo!
Bella composizione e "morta al"l'esposizione!
La tradizione del nuovo anno della mia famiglia stava mangiando un pasto con maiale e lenticchie per simboleggiare la prosperità nel prossimo anno. E ovviamente prosecco!

My Italian not so grammatically correct at 70 Vieri.
Ciao Dan!
Thank you for your comment, and for your Italian which is actually pretty good So, you were eating cotechino e lenticchie, which is exactly what I was eating here in Italy! Pretty good, even if a bit rich... Where are you originally from?
Ciao Vieri! My mother and her family(1 brother-3sisters). were from Serrastretta. The province of Catanzaro in the Calabria region of southern Italy. They came to America in the 1920's. Speaking little to no English. Settled in the Philadelphia area, finally in the Italian/Irish community of Kennett Square, Pa. The Mushroom Capital of the world. My grandfather was a shipbuilder then builder of his own houses. The Angelo Cerra family home is now a landmark in Kennett Square.
My mother brought us up to speak NO Italian fluently. Which I regret immensely! My nonna would NOT speak to her grandchildren in anything BUT Italian. I studied it when I was in college and my 1st cousin is a dual citizen of Italy and USA. She and I converse when we are together. My nonna/nonno, both sides of their families, eventually came to America and settled in the New Jersey, SE Pennsylvania regions.
Thank you for asking!
Dan
