Found a link to an old post that suggested setting the focus ring to MFD and then \'unscrewing\' the forward lens section to access the focusing stops. Unfortunately even the application of rubber friction straps has not shifted it.
There\'s a Youtube video about cleaning the aperture blades on an 80mm and he also casually unscrews the forward section, so I must be doing something wrong. Puzzling....
