I\'m no expert on hummingbirds, but my Sibley guide shows both Anna\'s and Allen\'s Hummingbirds wintering in southern CA with Anna\'s having a much greater range. It also has a short, straight bill and longer wings like your bird. I\'m leaning towards it being an Anna\'s. Did you get any photos of the tail spread out? That could help nail down the ID as the Anna\'s Humminbird has wider and more rounded tail feathers.

Thanks John. This OOF pic is the only capture I got with the tail feathers being fanned a bit, not sure it\'s going to help much.
