Hello all, My name is Matt and I\'m a new member. I live north of Seattle, WA. To shrink my long and complicated story into a shorter summary:
When I was a teenager, I was very passionate about nature photography. However, for various reasons, I let life move me in a different direction, and for many years I\'ve been living a less than fulfilling life doing what I do not enjoy, and had completely stopped doing photography. About 1.5 years ago, some things happened and something inside me shifted, resulting in me taking control of my life and moving in the direction I really want to go. Thus, I am now pursuing my dream of becoming a nature photographer, writer, and someone who not only enjoys life, but aims to contribute and have a positive impact on the world and other people. Having only made this change at age 33, I had virtually no images, no experience, nothing. I\'ve worked my behind off in the past year, learning and practicing as much as I am able to, taking steps toward my goals, and upgrading gear when appropriate and ready to do so. I apologize if the above story was too long or posted in an inappropriate area of the forum, but I figured it would be nice to share something about where I am coming from and what I\'m about.
Another quick note, over the past year or so, as I did research, I stumbled, on occasion, across some threads on this forum about gear, techniques, etc, but never joined. I just read them, then moved on. Big mistake. Just the other day I came across the forum again, and read the following thread: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1272451 That really inspired me, and I liked the camaraderie displayed by all. So I decided to join the forum, and here I am.
