What a great day.was tired of having a few too many people at our well known local beaches shooting the snowies.Four years ago using google earth I marked a dune network that I wanted to see if any of our chubby friends might inhabit.Very difficult to get to and you have to make a real commitment as it is minimal a 1 hour walk to get there.
It paid off.Saw this guy from about 400 yards away.When I got to about 100 yards he flew behind this log and vanished.I was amazed at how he tucked behind such a small log.He actually let me shoot him for an hour before he flew 50 yards away.
I let him be as this location sees no people and he was comfortable with me at 35 yards and figure the next time he will not even batt an eye.Doug M
