New Zealand | The 4th Visit

recently concluded my 2nd landscape workshop in NZ (Pursuit of Light), as usual after the two day workshop I headed south with some friends (this time my wife was re-visiting and it was my 5 yr old daughters first time).

took the time to capture some scenes in which the weather wasn\'t so inviting during my first 3 tries. I found myself shooting less out in the field as I was always heading back before the end of golden hour to either prepare breakfast or cook dinner.

let me share some images from my recent trip (1 week ago) to Winter New Zealand (they say the mildest winter they have had ever), I hoped for more snow. It happened a day after I left.
back next autumn for no5 to visit some new locations... finally.

these images were uploaded in 1920 X 1080px | pls forgive the interpolation at 640px, I have included though the links to the original size.

off to iceland this sunday! thank you for viewing my work. cheers!

EYE OF MORDOR

by the shores of lake tekapo, I was given a great twilight and sunrise today after a huge fog bank settled directly atop the lake and covered it entirely for almost the whole day prior. I did enjoy though taking photos from the bad weather, this one though is quite rewarding and beautiful to witness.

SWEET AS

timed my visit during the end tail of winter so I would capture all the glacier ice traveling down the lake due to the warmer temperature. this one taken along the shores of the tasman lake, the difference between this and jokulsarlon, iceland
would I guess be the southern alps encapsulating the lake almost 360 degs.

WHICH WAY?
/img]

the humboldt mountains along the famous willow trees location of glenorchy, where lake wakatipu meets the dart river. i called it a morning thinking the light was not gonna show, then it light up the sky like crazy I had to put my waders back on, no time to walk back to the location so drove the car down the road and hit the track somewhere to get ahead of the pack. foot ache though...

AORAKI VOYAGER

after chasing alpen light in the valley (shots not shown here) proceeded to the end of the track to see the hooker lake under mt cook, multitude of ice all around this part was flowing down the river, the right side completely blanketed and freezing to the shoreline, had to pull this 300 lbs chunk of ice to a more stable position while my friend and I were both submerged in hip deep glacial water. had a 1.5 hr window then had to hike back due to an incoming front a 9am.
