Medano Creek run out of the east side of the mountains and along the sandy edge of the Great Sand Dunes, eventually just disappearing in the sand. During snowmelt it past the dunes and out into the San Luis valley, eventually resurfacing in wetlands that feed the Rio Grande. But by late June when I was there it disappeared just a few hundred years from where these were taken. The brained rivulets are constantly changing, even while you watch.
There were a blend of raws with different white balance one to preserve the warm morning light on the sand, and another for the blue reflections and sky.
