I did a bit of handheld shooting with 7D +800L this morning.
For this kinda target 800L is superb. However, I have never warmed up to 7D. Even at ISO 400 lottsa noise visible even with minor cropping. In effect, despite prodigeous sensor pixel density of 7D, my 1DsMkII has better \"reach\" because it allows cropping without much detail deterioration.
1DMkIIN files are better quality too IMO although they can not be crop enlarged much.
