p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Manual focusing / exposure on GH1

Hi,

Newbie on m4/3 here. I did a bit of search but didn't find a thread so here goes...

So I got one of the GH1 from Panasonic.com deal in Jan with the 14-42mm kit lens as I was very curious about m4/3 systems. I also got Nikon to m4/3 adapter and can successfully use my Nikon 50mm f/1.4G on the GH1. The manual focus assist works wonderfully.

I'm finding it annoying to get the right exposure at the shutter speed I want, however. In M mode, I can set the shutter speed I wanted, but there's no Auto/i ISO option available. Manually selecting ISO is possible, but it just add more button pushes to the process. In A or P mode, I can get auto ISO but it keep default to 1/30s shutter which is too slow. In S mode, the exposure is all over the place, usually way too dark with Auto ISO selecting 100, not sure why.

Any suggestion / recommendation? It would have been wonderful if either exposure works in S mode and/or Auto ISO is available in M mode.

Thanks!
