Another two entries from my one-man 200/2 VR pano fixation. I hope for spring so I can get colour and light into these images. The first one is about 160MP of very sharp pixels:

It is hard to find good subjects for this treatment. I went out this past weekend and took three more, but I am not sure if any of them will really come out as well as the above two, or the first one. Anyway, I will continue to do it a bit until I have enough for a small portfolio. It is in any case a weird way to treat this lens, like putting a trailer on a Murcielago
Well, just being able to post in this thread... ;-)
The 200 F2,0 is wonderfull lens, and last week I took some photos I think are worth sharing. I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed spending time with our dog and coming home with these memories.
This lens and the Canon f1.8 legacy version got me thinking what else might be out there; found this on Ebay - I believe it was relisted after it didn't sell for $5k.
It is a great picture but I want to know about the composition. I think it's too central, I think the pic would be damn near perfect if horse and rider were to the left a bit.
How far left/right can your AF work on this camera and lens with this kind of subject? I guess these things happen in a split second.
Unfortunately my home PC has lost its boot sector and I can only work on my laptop at the moment but the light has a pale yellow look to it, was this the dust in the air?
These rodeo pics really intrigue me and you seem to have the perfect shutter speed to give a sense of action too.
^ Thanks, the WB is right on...combination of dust and the arena lights warmin' up.
As for the crop it was printed several ways. At the advice of a retired pro rodeo
shooter I finally eliminated the pole and the large clod far left. The resulting 16 X 20
looks 3D and it's the 1st thing you see when you enter my office. Gets it's fair share
of wows You're right, happens in a instant and if you're lucky...an op like this will
present itself maybe once every few nights of coverage. Exif should be intact but it was

I'm ordering a 200/2G VR II next week as well as a RRS LCF-15 replacement foot. Since the lens is relatively short (no longer than a 70-200/2.8G), is there any need for one of RRS's long lens packages too? I'll use the lens with a Gitzo 1325 tripod (with RRS BH-55 ballhead) and a Gitzo 1568 monopod.
