A picture of my daughter Sarah when she was about 3 years old. I think she would have liked this.

Beautiful Klaus. I'm sorry to see it's written in past tense....

Ouch. Are you saying what I think you're implying?

Happy shooting,
Yakim.

Thanks so much everyone for the kind thoughts and comments.
We lost Sarah in a car accident almost 3 years ago.
I think she was telling me to look at this picture this morning and then I just decided to take a picture of it next to the window.

Sorry to hear that Klaus. I thought that your words implied that she was gone, but I am happy that you are showing her memory to the FM community in this way.

Mark,
Thanks for the thoughts and not sure why I did this picture.
I know she is still with us.

Klaus, I am so sorry to hear that. I lost my father 20 years ago (4 months before my wedding) and I still consider this as the saddest event of my life. I have three kids and they are – quite literally – the joy of my life so I can't even imagine about how losing a child might feel.

Sometimes words fail me. “I'm sorry” seems so unsatisfying and simply not enough.

Happy shooting,
Yakim.

Yakim,
Thanks and I am sorry about the loss of your father. Its just so sad losing someone close to you.
Losing Sarah has been the worst time of my life and still have a hard time with it.
I think about her many times a day.

Enjoy your children and make the best out of every day. Children are the sunshine of our lives.

A photo of a photo, I think it is a very powerful photograph. It really reflects a longing for the person to be present. I am sorry for your loss.

I like how the tone and the scene of the photo mirrors those outside it, and the composition is impeccable.

What a masterpiece, bravo!

There is something quite eerie and sad about this image given the background story. The softness of the surrounds works well with the sharpness of the photo of your daughter. A photo of a photo doesn't usually work but this image has been put together perfectly.

I, too, feel your pain. Thanks for sharing a beautiful picture with us. I lost two children, one never had a picture made. The other lived a month, and we have one snapshot we made of her 2 days before she died suddenly. It's nothing like the portrait you show us. My husband made it with a little instamatic, but money can't buy that picture!
