p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Neuschwanstein (5DII, M8, NEX with Zeiss)

Last weekend I was shooting together with Philber at the castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau in southern Bavaria.
It was great fun and we had the opportunity to compare three different systems.
Philippe was using his 5DII and his NEX and I was using in addition to my 5DII my M8. We were both using only Zeiss lenses.
PP of all the images will probably take some days. I will start today posting some images shot at the town Hohenschwangau, at the Pöllatschlucht and at the Alpsee.
Philippe and I will add more images in the next days in this thread.

Boris

If you want to compare the 5DII with the M8, here are two nearly identical images (although with a different exposure and a slightly different PP).

Interesting. The M8 shot looks nice and crisp with great contrast but appears to have a lot of color noise in the foreground trees. The 5DII shot looks very clean and noise free but has that mushy, low contrast look to the file but some of that probably has to do with the exposure/ PP differences. What sort of ISO were you shooting at?

Sweet, thanks for these...ah, global warming ;-) I particularly like the 28mm shots, but all are lovely.

Very nice, but where are the shots of Neuschwanstein itself?

Both were shot at base ISO (5DII: 100, M8: 160).

Just be patient. Sorting and PP 500 RAW images takes some time.
I will probably post them tomorrow.

Well, maybe I'm wrong about that color noise then.

Bobu; with the #8 image, the 18mm/M8 shot there seems to be moiré present in the midsection, in the forest by the schloss, facing the left lake.

I agree with Tariq, I see some artefactsy things happening in the tree crowns in the M8 shot, maybe a hint of moiré as well? Both samples (5DII and M8) are excellent.

All in all, superb shots, nicely framed and well executed. Your photos always give me much needed inspiration.

Also, I am stunned by the resolution and crisp of the 50MP and especially the 100MP. Whoa!
