p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Question.....

I have very little experience with macro photography. Today my wife purchased me a set of Kenko extension tubes (12, 20, 36mm). I have both a Canon 1D Mk III and 7D camera bodies. For glass I've got among others a Canon 50mm f/1.4, 24-70mm f/2.8, and a Canon 135mm f/2.

My question is.... What would be the best combo to begin practicing with given my assortment of gear? Does it make sense to stack the extension tubes?

Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I used my extension tubes alot with both my 50 1.4 and my 135 f/2. Play with various combinations. It took me awhile to get used to them and the distance away from the subject restrictions, but they are fun once you get the feel of them the 50 was the easiest to initially work with, for me anyway!

You will get higher magnification if you pair your tubes with the 50mm.

68/50 => about 1.4X magnification.
