Hi everyone,
this is my first play in the weekly assignments in 7 years!

I have only had access to point and shoot cameras during most of that time and I have to say, I'm loving owning a DSLR again (it landed here Friday) and I've got the bug... bad!

The first thing I did with camera in hand was to come straight to Fred Miranda to see what the current assignment was. I can think of no better way to get a handle on your new toys than a few days of shooting ideas for WA422

So after a long hiatus here is my entry titled: Red Hot Chilli

Exposure: 1/1250 sec
Focal Length: 120mm
Aperture: F/2.8
Lighting - Shot was lit by a butane fire ball

Thanks Mandi,

I'm pretty proud of it too!

It's a single full frame image, uncropped and not touched-up. The only photoshoping was contrast, saturation and resizing to the 640 pixels.

The wire stand for the chilli was tricky and it took ages to get the right sort of fire to light it without overexposing.

Making the fireballs in the dark was lots of fun though!
