More small bug shots, again mainly shot on the neighbours garden waste wheelie bin lid.

Bark fly nymph about 2.4mm body length

Sac spider about 1.9mm body length

Globular springtail Sminthurinus niger I think- about 0.7mm body length

Amazing "facial hair" on the last springtail. Remarkblhy fine detail in such a small creature.

I always enjoy photos like the full size next-to-last one, where the sharply defined and so very narrow DOF is demonstrated. I've come to suspect that the thickness of the maximum DOF slice is much narrower than the apparent width of the slab your photograph demonstrates. Perhaps this is just a mistaken impression after I have missed so many intended focus targets...

Phil - I did accidently shoot the springtail at F9 5:1 which is a bit smaller aperture than my normal for that mag
