Found these two wasps early yesterday morning within 6" of each other- One was dead with abdominal damage and the other was alive but groggy. The latter one fell off into the grass when I first tried to photograph it. Think they are either queens or drones.

Thanks mark - not really sure what had been going on especially as I have a hard time telling Queens and drones apart but did wonder if the first one had had a mating accident.

Additional ID info- apparently the dead one is a drone and the live one a Queen.
