Hi all,
Have a 1 week holiday trip to Tokyo planned for next month. Am looking to shop around for used Nikon or Zeiss lenses in tokyo. Any recommendations on shops I should head to and any useful shopping tips?
Tx!

Kitamura kamera is great. There is one in Shibuya and one in Ikebukuro which should be easy to get to. There are few in Shinjuku around the station. I don't have the addresses unfortunately...Think this might be one of them:

Kitamura's list of Tokyo shops is here:
http://sss.kitamura.jp/search.html?t=13

It's in Japanese, but you should be able to copy/paste the address and get into google maps.

Mapcamera is known for storing a good deal of 2nd hand gear, but recently I don't find anything of value there. Might be worth checking out anyway:

Ginza has few shops - you find them lined up on the same side of the road with about 2 minutes walking distance from each other. One shop keeps a lot of Nikon, the other has great choice of Leica lenses.
To get to them, go to Ginza Stn. You should exit at a large junction. On one of the corners you will have "Le Cafe Doutoru" on 2nd floor. Hard to miss the sign, although you might need to scan a little. Just below that cafe there is a florist.
This is more or less direction orientation mark. Turn your back to the sign and keep to the left side of the street. First shop should be about 1-2 minutes walk from there.

Hope it helps...pardon my somewhat whimsical directions..

No worries at all. Hope you find something interesting. There are 2 small shops near the Shinjuku - quite opposite sides from each other. One is really hard to miss - the other is really hard to find...
First one is located near the North East exit (station square) on the other side at quite busy pedestrian crossing fairly close to rail tracks. Think the exit is marked A8. It is on the corner, so you will be staring right into it if you are going to cross. Mostly medium and large format but some Nikkors.

The hard to find is at the completely opposite end of the same side of the station - South East. Keep within 1 minute walk radius from the exit (without entering underpass) and you shall find it. Lots of Leica-M, Contax-G, M42 and Nikkor, but people are a little geekish and not very talkative. Though very helpful.

The Alpsdo shop is further down around that area..but it's nightmare to describe the directions...

Accidentally, Kitamura shop is on the West side of the station on one of back streets. There are Biccamera and Yodobashi shops nearby. Remember Kitamura's logo. Their 2nd hand sales are usually on 2nd or 3rd floors.

I asked the exact same question this spring. Got some useful answers:

My personal experience was that for used Nikon lenses, there's probably nowhere better on earth than Nikon House in the Ginza.

Also in the Ginza (near Nikon house) is Lemon Camera on the 8th floor of a building that's also a church. They have a lot of very eclectic used lenses including Zeiss.

If you're combining camera shopping with sightseeing both the stores above are a short walk from the Imperial Palace Gardens.

Yodobashi (any branch) was fun and amazing, but no used gear.

Thanks all!

I visited Nikon House - awesome place, a bit overpriced, but incredibly well stocked

Visited LemonCha also - AMAZING . probably the best of all the shops I visited. It's on the 8th floor of Ginza Church

Got my 20 AIS hood (hb-14) (it's a monster of a hood), some leather straps and other accessories. No lenses, was looking for a specific M-mount one which i did not manage to find at the right price.
