Well just did a final turning op on the rear element group of the MD 50/1.4 and even with that turned down a lot 1.3mm I still don't get infinity at 1.4 on the 5DMK2...the turning of the rear element housing 1.3mm helped a lot, to the tune of maybe only about 40ft infinity at 1.4 before turning the rear element group housing to now about 30 yards at 1.4...not really sure yet but I would say at f/11 I'm out to a clear 35+ yards.
So, full frame...sorry Charley it just ain't going to happen, unless you modify the mirror, NO THANKS! Crop body...no problem.

On the Oly 50/1.4 f/8 will give you 5 meters to infinity of DOF.
On the Nik 50/1.4 f/8 will give you 5 meters to infinity of DOF.
On the Hex 50/1.7 f/8 will give you 7 meters to infinity of DOF.
On the Sec 50/2.8 f/8 will give you 7 meters to infinity of DOF.
On the Nik 55/2.8 f/8 will give you 5 meters to infinity of DOF.
On the Rok 55/1.8 f/8 will give you 7 meters to infinity of DOF.
On the Tak 55/1.8 f/8 will give you 7 meters to infinity of DOF.
On the CZP 50/1.7 f/8 will give you 4 meters to infinity of DOF.
On the Xen 50/2.8 f/8 will give you 4 meters to infinity of DOF.
...according to their respective DOF scales printed on the lens barrel.
