By the way, I just found out there is a sunlight mode for LCD. I didn't use it before. With this mode, maybe I don't have to magnify 7x to check the focus (except for very large aperture like 1.2). Silly me.

Is there any adapter to use full frame lenses on NEX in tilt/shift mode.
I am seeing thats the big advantage..... (can use any FF lenses in T/S)
There are tilt adapters available on ebay, made by Kipon. Not sure about how it works though.

Since NEX is an all new mount, and the lenses and LA-EA1 only support an APS-C image circle, I would guess that the NEX cameras ARE "fullframe"...it's just that "fullframe" means Aps-c, rather than 35mm, in this case. Part of the case for 35mm sensors in both DSLRs and the M9 relates to using legacy glass. NEX is starting fresh. I'm betting Sony goes the SLT route for 35mm sensors and leaves NEX with Aps-c.
Sony has indicated that E mount was designed to permit an 135 format sensor. Whether one will arrive is something they have not indicated. I expect we'll see a FF SLT first, but I do think that there will be a FF NEX, if only as a Halo product.
Yes, although they've also indicated that it would take some mount reworking. I think it's more of a a matter of Sony not wanting to appear like they can't do it, rather then if they actually will do it. Granted, I hope you're right. We may get an idea soon enough, when Sony releases some more NEX lenses. So far, the 16mm and kit zoom don't cover a 35mm sensor. If the upcoming Zeiss prime doesn't, then I'd bet Sony is sticking with Aps-c for NEX... At least for the next few years.

I surely hope to see a full frame small camera. However, I can live with APS-C if they provide some ultra wide, as decent as a Canon EF-S 10-22, and a few (fast) primes.
First one taken with ZM25 and the second one with Contax G 90/2.8.
If I am allowed to keep only one lens for NEX, it would be the ZM25. Tow lenses, add the Contax G90. These two are truly great performers.
I failed to capture the tea kettle (and the pouring hot water) in the second shot. I have other shots that have it but unfortunately the focus is off for those shots. Am I willing to pay a few hundred extra bucks for AF? Definitely. With Zeiss reclaiming Contax brand, I am seeing the possibility.

Forgot to mention, I was happy with ZM 35/2 on NEX as well. But honestly I haven't used it ever since I mounted ZM 25/2.8.
Hi Wyan - I've read reports that lenses shorter than 35mm can have smearing and color issues on the edges. I actually read one "report" say the ZM 25/2.8 suffered from this as well (on the very left & right sides). Have you noticed this at wide open and infinity at all?
Wyan, you get great results from your NEX/Zeiss, so I am asking your advice. I just got my NEX5, and will try alt lenses next week. So far, when testing, i left the cam on "auto ISO" and am getting some strange EXIF, such as f:6.3, 1/40s, ISO 1600. Why is the cam going to such high ISO? What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

Is there any reason why you think that EXIF is inaccurate?
I noticed my GF1 and EP2 doing the same. Haven't looked into the Nex about it but I just set my limits for the GF1 and EP2 at ISO 800 as shooting in P mode, the camera really wanted to shoot at a much higher ISO than I thought it needed. Since doing it I haven't had any noise issues as I did before. Maybe there is a limiter on the Nex as well. Just too lazy to look into it at the moment ;-)
I would suggest adjusting the aperture and confirming that the shutter and ISO change accordingly? If so then the camera has adjusted 'correctly' to it's meter...
I'm thinking the cam uses the FL = shutter speed formula. Try S mode to control auto iso with adapted lenses. I think the 5dII uses the same logic with chipped adapted lenses.

I suppose the camera wants to give you images with quick enough shutter speed so as to reduce the influece of camera shake to minimal. I would recommend setting ISO manually. I usually use 200 for day light and up to 800 for dim available light. And you may carry a light tripod or monopod with you if you still want to use low ISO in dim light (there are many great choices out there). I haven't tried anything higher than 800 but I've seen good results from other sources.
Still no much time to use the camera. I only used it for three trips. I haven't tried Pano, HDR. Neither have I tried the kit lens. Still I suppose I will be happy to pick it up for the next trip. I only have time to sit there and think about wihich lens to add to the lineup. I guess I need a 1.4/50. I will try a Planar 1.4/50 CY or a ZM 1.5/50 sonnar once I have the time.
