Here are the pics redone after returning home from vacation and having access to PS and color calibrated monitor.

I will give you all the examples I have and include the EXIF. these were not taken under the best conditions , Bad eyes , heat , sweat, ants biting me , and lens fogging up , very shady conditions.

This combo does give you greater DOF for some reason and it is harder to nail the focus point , at least with aging eye's. Not sure of the species , but this little guy only had a wingspan of 1.250 inches .

Wonderful series Tom - looks like the odd combo (I mean the lenses) are working pretty well !
Not sure you'd get much better shots with a normal 1:1 macro lens ?

Hi Tom,

My take is the lower IQ hit is well worth it given the added versatility of using the Telemore. I am still wondering if anyone has used TCs other than the Telemore. I have seen results of several TC shoot outs and to me there seems to be a difference in the IQ produced by different TCs.

Has anyone used a non Telemore TC and if so what were the results.

As soon as Brian posted his discovery , I took out my canon TC's and tried them , they don't work at all. In the stuck threads at the top of the opening page I started a thread of links to all we have done with the telemore tc . One of our other FMer's has run through a few others that look like will work . I think is working on taking some images with each to help in us making a decision on which is the best. From what I have read the Telemore TC's by Komura were the best you could by at the time .

I've read through all the links with this combo...very cool and now that Kenny sold me the MP-E and included his reversing rings/telemore98 II I will be using this very soon with my 40D. Thanks Kenny!

I really like the fishing spider shots in this thread...very cool spider!
