It is my first time doing macro. It is a lot harder than I thought. I really need a good tripod.
I need help on technique.

Lovely shots. A tripod and reflector will help in shooting static subjects like this

Good shots esp for first try- not really macro but certainly closeups. Macro possibly more than any other form of photography takes a lot of practice to get used to the focus/movement and DOF problems.
