Even after years of easy living at the circus, the pride of lions still had enough natural instincts to be able to pick out the weakest member of the herd.

Note: One good thing about making multiple submissions this week was that I was able to eat the Peeps from the first picture, pick the flowers from the second, and go to the store to buy two bags of cookies for the third! My wife is starting to question me more carefully when I say I need something "for a picture".

Because of the similarity in the images, I actually did hesitate before posting. I usually avoid viewing other entries before I post my own in order to not be influenced. In the end, I felt that the fact that this was eggs and a Marshmallow Peep that there was enough variation from your submission to make it an interesting contribution.

There's more to a photo than just subject matter. It's interesting to me how similar a color palette and tonal range our images possess, no to mention that they're both incredibly curvilinear.

There are a lot of dissimilarities as well. Yours has almost everything in focus while this one has very selective focus. Yours is very well aligned while this one is much looser, as evidenced by the eggs not lining up perfectly. Yours has a creamy, off-white color cast while this one has a blue/grey color cast, thanks to the egg carton. The perspectives are very different as well. As far as the faces are concerned, yours has two black eyes and a mouth while this one has one reddish/brown eye and a hint of a beak. This one also has a little yellow tail sticking up.

I think both photos fulfill the assignment capably.

I apologize for any who were concerned by the previous image. I know that I developed it on my own, without any attempt to imitate or take advantage of another's work, but in the interest of maintaining the peace, I have removed the image.

It certainly does stand out and I much prefer it to your previous entry.

I'm hesitating about submittting my own entry this week because of similarities with a couple of others.

I like this as well but the light is a bit too harsh for me.
