I took a glance down at my desk and it hit me, after spending four years on the UC Berkeley campus, I always knew there was something about me that was just a little bit different than most everyone else...

Haha! I had to scan for a couple of seconds, then I saw it. Clever! Regardless of political affiliation, Go Bears!

Go Bears indeed!

Let's hope the baseball team can find a way to make it to Omaha.

Apologies in advance but I'm not "local". Is it related to a republican/democrat elections? But there's a lot of time till the next elections, no? I fear I need an explanation.

Happy shooting,
Yakim.

Yakim, Berkeley (also known as “CAL,” short for University of California, Berkeley) is one of the most liberal schools in the world, maybe second only to Harvard. It is a rarity that a conservative “Republican” would choose such a school. Most would attend Stanford or USC or the like. That is the “stand-out.”

Yakim, Greg explained it perfectly. Not only is the University of Berkeley one of the most liberal schools in the world, but the city of Berkeley itself often finds itself on an island all by itself when it comes to politics. The form included in this picture is an absentee ballot for California's primary election which is next Tuesday. Your correct on the fact that the next general election is not until November.

".... after spending four years on the UC Berkeley campus, I always knew there was something about me that was just a little bit different than most everyone else..."

It took four years for you to figure out that you were just a little bit different?

I always thought Republicans were a bit thick. This just confirms it!

Greg and Matteise, thanks for the explanation. I figured I'm a bit short of some "local info". Now that this is explained, I can enjoy it properly and understand the relationship to the theme.

Happy shooting,
Yakim.

Tell you what though, the present city of Berkeley is a far cry from the days of the "People's Republic of Berkeley" of the 1960s/1970s!!
