I like your concept, but I have to say this, and I don't mean to be nit-picking. The dirty broken nails on one of your models is quite off-putting. I'd really like to see you re-shoot this without that distraction. I think you mean to convey that one of the persons is under privileged and therefore, dirty, but with only the two hands in the frame, the 'story' isn't clear.

Dirty and under priveleged is definitely not the story. Just a working mans hands. I see no shame in that. No sob stories. No class warfare.

At first look, I love it. At a second look, I still like the idea a lot but find the pic a bit awkward. I get that notion because the index finger of the one on the left is not with his other fingers but lies almost casually against the wrist of the one on the right. It does not look like a handshake or a helping hand. So, what is it?

P.S. Personally, I don't mind the dirty broken nails. So far, despite my puzzlement, it is my favorite thus far.

+1. Photography isn’t always about every element being perfect. Sometimes, it’s about conveying a message, and sometimes, that message arrives in dirty hands.
