Thank you. Yes, this lens somehow finds itself on the chopping block every now and then.
But I keep going back to the photos I took with the lens and then take it out for a spin and it's safe again.

^Yes, expensive. A local camera store has a pre-owned sample, in “bargain” condition, for ~$3.5K US. I will try to remember, the next I visit, if I see one of their more-Leica-knowledgeable employees, to ask about its issues. This is a shop that will send some Leica lenses to DAG or Leica for repair or service, so, perhaps this one cannot be repaired or serviced, to reach a higher condition rating.
