John, thanks for taking the time to add some valued advice. I simply used a flash that was mounted above the scene and flashed against seamless white paper, so I will play around with what you suggest and add another light to try and eliminate the shadows. Never thought of the food color idea!
BTW, I’d say you are beyond exploring!
