I found one at a great price but before I purchase it can anyone tell me if the 270ex will work with the GF1. If not, what are your recommendations? Thanks

Andri

Should fire at full power only, won't have any TTL

Generally speaking, It's inadvisable to cross-platform your flash/camera combo.

You can get around that limitation via wireless/RF triggers

I am not sure if it is true. The main issue is that the 270EX does not have manual controls on the flash, so there is not way to control its output power unless it is mounted on a canon DSLR. That limitation remains whether you trigger it through a wireless trigger or just mount it directly on a non-Canon DSLR.

very true. tested myself.

you will need to stop down your lens or else everything will be blown.

works though.

Does using a Canon flash on Panasonic body damages the camera? In terms of voltage or power, the flash could be too powerful.
