Taken yesterday in Beijing. This is the Tian'anmen Gate leading from Tian'anmen Square into the Forbidden City. This is an astounding place. Tomorrow, I tour the Forbidden City, then off to the Great Wall.
Enjoy...BTW, the Chinese Military chased me off after taking this shot. It seems they don't like westerners photographing their "shrine" without a permit. Of course for locals it's a major tourist spot, and they all pose for their family scrapbook!

Great capture. I was in Beijing in September last year and took a similar photo. Very difficult to get that picture because there are SO MANY TOURISTS everywhere.

I'm an ethnic Chinese (but look very much like a foreigner) so maybe that's why the guards didn't chase me away?
