Probably not a winner but I had it from 2 or 3 days ago and it's my first post ever on FM. Could have benefited from a lower angle view... (no exif as it is stiched... I didn't have enough space at the back to take the whole thing in one shot)
A very intriguing entry Sefo, and a warm welcome to FM and the WA. The varrying levels of dampness on the stone adds an interesting dynamic to the coloring.
Watch out making image entries in this forum without any EXIF data present, as there is a chance they may not be included. This forum uses the embedded file data to ensure that the image was physically shot within the allowable date range for each week's topic.
Thanks for the welcome and comments.
As for the EXIF, I'll keep that in mind for other posts. (though I do have another view of this same tomb taken in one shot, thus with EXIF data)
Thanks all for the comments.
For the curious, here's a frontal view of the tomb (single shot with full exif)
No post-processing, just cropped at the top and bottom then adjusted the height to 640px
Hmm, very interesting subject matter, and I think your single shot might be the stronger of the two. I like the curve and placement of the stone wall in the stitched version, but the angle of view doesn't seem to compliment the tomb itself. Had you taken a few high to low landscape frames from the straight on vantage point and stitch them to include both sides completely?
Sadly, those are the only shots I have. I'm just starting and now that I think of it I don't know why I went to the side to take that 2-shots stitch when I could just have taken 2 horizontal shots straight on like you said and include the whole thing.
Next time I make that 10 hours bus trip in the mountains (which happens once or twice a year) I'll be sure to remember it
