nice arches, I think it might be nice to see a bit more of the super-highway on the right. The mix of old and new technology is an interesting part of this scene, plus it looks like the furtherst right part of the highway is curved as well.

Very nice capture. Love the composition.

Thanks for the comments Chad.
In light of Mark's comment, I may revisit the crop. This is an area that I was wrestling with myself. Do you think doing that would add or take away from the appearance (no pun intended)?

Hello Mark,
Thank you very much for the comments. I was wrestling with just how much (or too little) to show. I may revisit the crop.

Nice composition of the arches. Any chance this is along the Schuylkill river near route 1 in Philadelphia? It really looks like that spot.

Hello Cliff. Yes, you are exactly right! This is one of the two old train bridges that cross just below Route 1, a little ways up from Boathouse Row.
You are the most "local" FM'er that I have seen in the last couple years. There doesn't appear to be many of us in this area. Thanks for the comments.
I live just outside of Philly in Glenside. I've got a few shots of that bridge area taken from the other side of the river. If you shoot from Falls bridge, you can get 5 bridges in one shot.

Hello John, nice to make your aquaintence. I am directly across the river from PHL airport, 30 second drive and I can see the planes touchdown.
Thanks for the comments. I was only able to get out for a couple hours on Saturday to get a bunch of shots, but the biggest obstacle was that there was really no place to stop or park on Kelly Drive.

That would mean we live on opposite sides of the city. I'm north and west, just outside of Chestnut Hill.
I'm guessing the parking lots were full of snow? I wish I could have gotten down there. Icicles on Falls Bridge would have been cool.
The biggest problem I have with these WAs is the resolution restrictions. I adore small details in photos and love to print big to show these details off. To accomplish the goals of these assignments you end up having to crop much tighter than normal to focus our eyes on what you need us to see.
Therefore, leave the crop alone or crop tighter to emphasize the arches and not the bridge above it.

Thanks Chad. I'll see what I can get out of some of the other angles I took.

When I said directly across the river, I meant the Delaware River, not the Schuchyll River.
Not sure which crop that I like Kurt. Do you have a series of shots that you can play with or was this a "one of"? The super highway is sure a contrast to the old looking arch bridge.

This is a really interesting old bridge and I find it very pleasing. I agree with Chad, that I think I would like a tighter crop even more. I think if you rotated the original shot about 10 degrees counter clockwise and took a bit off the top so that we didn't have both the old and new, and crop a bit tighter it would be very compelling. Still I like the shot you chose a lot. Very nice entry.
