I think you picked the right part of the dog, the light area between the dark areas which is the interesting part IMO.

However the large swath of bright OOF area kind of bothers me, I might prefer the are of focus to be brought front a tad, or may be crop of the bottom a little. But that is just me.

Many thanks to all those heart warming compliments. I agree that more DoF would be beneficial here but light levels were low and I was on the limits of handheld ability. Personally, I'd really like to see the 60/2.8 IS materialize.
