Ive been using my new Zeiss 21mm ZE and have been observing the great 3D/pop effect at close range. However the same effect doesn't seem to be there in distance subjects. e.g landscapes.

Is this the same with all Zeiss lenses (this is my first) ?

Perhaps this is a function of the distant subject matter rather than the lens itself. e.g. haze the distant landscape. The 2D nature of distant hills?

IMHO you are chasing windmills, magiclight. If the windmill is near, you can get great 3D from your lens. But if it is a distant windmill, not...

That said, there are a couple of current threads about 3D that total about 20 pages. That is a good place to find more detailed info.
