Grass is vegetable, right? I just couldn't bring myself to shoot a rutabaga.

Oh well, I saw at least one fungi in the entries. I'm not really that interested in shooting broccoli anyway so I'll just run with this one.

Nice shot, Tom. It is hard to make veggies interesting, but it's fun trying. Love the grass. Your new lens is too cool.

There is no such thing as a vegetable, scientifically speaking. They're all fruits, roots or leaves. "Vegetable" is a grocery store marketing term. Grass is grass, but it's still a nice shot.

Of course. Vegetable is a culinary definition, not a scientific one, which basically means a fruit which is not sweet. Grass still doesn't apply here.

Actually, the assignment is a bit unclear as to whether "vegetable" is a noun or an adjective. As a noun, Yakim is correct. However, as an adjective, my entry is perfectly appropriate:

of or relating to vegetables as food : a vegetable garden | vegetable soup.
� of or relating to plants or plant life, esp. as distinct from animal life or mineral substances : vegetable matter

Thanks for making me look that up. My entry is legal after all.
