Very interesting pic but where did the blue and red came from? And what is that blue rectangle?

Happy shooting,
Yakim.

The rectangle is part of a framed glass door. The primary light source is indirect sunlight from the glass door. The blue tint is from the sky beyond the door, scattered in the room and providing high key backlight. The red is from the color of the table upon which the pepper rests. The reflective finish of the table shines with the backlight wash, except in the shadow of the pepper. There is gentle flash fill to rescue the color and form of the pepper. It is a study in color and form with bright backlight.

Gorgeous pepper, nicely done. I love these things; they taste as wonderful as they look, too (well, the yellow and red ones, do!)

I love this one! It's reminiscent of Peter Maxx! (am I dating myself?!?) Nice colors. The shodow on the table teases us about the table surface. Nice job.

Karen:

The high-key approach works well, and makes the mundane interesting. But I find the blue rectangle portion distracting. Nicely done, though.

Cheers,
Rich

Thanks, Chris!

Thanks, Rich. I kept the door frame because I liked the color and form tension it posed against the pepper.

That's sort of the spirit of a high key image, Norm.

You've captured primary clours in a most interesting way. Cool shot.

10X. I had a hunch it is not PS.

Happy shooting,
Yakim.

Karen,

Love this shot very much. I agree that the blue addition from the door adds a wonderful addition of color to the image. Before I had read further, I thought that the red underneath may have been the lower reflection of an apple.

Best Regards,
Kurt

Thanks, Kurt! It was a fairly minimalist set-up. The only thing "fancy' was a bit of direct flash fill from an MT-24EX.
