Accurate placement, indeed! I always associate golden apples with Christmas. My parents would give each of us a large Golden Delicious apple as a stocking stuffer, back in the day before selective breeding for market destroyed the sweetness and taste of the red and yellow Delicious apples. I doubt any of ours lasted until New Years.
