Nice shot, Tom. I kind of like the crop but I could also see it a bit wider. To get some fill you might have tried a piece of white paper to reflect the bright light from the windows.
Mmmmm, yes. I bought a whole box of these yesterday to eat & shoot today! I love these things!!! I like the composition; the metal bowl and the arrangement gives a neat symmetry.
Thanks for the input guys. I do appreciate it. I may try to reshoot but I'm not sure if I'll manage that. I don't have a flash rig so I am hostage to natural light - of which there is rather little after I get home from work these days.
Flash photography is not my forte and this was taken with the camera-mounted flash since I missed the sunset by 10 minutes and I don't have any other flashes.

I just recently (Christmas) obtained a Speedlite 580EX-II as my introduction into hot-shoe & off-camera flash. In the past I have experimented with a few DIY pop-up-flash diffusers using household materials with moderate success (white sheet, white satin, tissue paper, etc...).
and I don't have any other flashes.
