Yes it can be converted to EOS. I have converted two of them. You have to cut the stock down a little (machine) in order to get infinity focus on EOS bodies.
Although I have had great results using the copy I kept, the bad news is that it will not clear the mirror on a stock 5D. There is no rear element retainer material to remove either as the rear element glass is very flat and is the "back-most" surface when the lens is focused to the infinity position.
If you don't need infinity focus on your 5D it's a good performer.
