Finally got around to posting up a blog with images from my coverage for HBO on the Pacquiao-Cotto fight, love to hear some feedback on the images and remote shots. Thanks for looking. Also on the off chance somebody is in the Quebec City, Canada area, I'm looking for an assistant for the 11/28 show. Contact me direct for details/rate.
Ed...fantastic fight coverage. Loved the angles and the timing!
Now...while on your site I noticed a few Brodeur images in your banner. WOW!! The capture of Brodeur looking over his shoulder with his eyes peeled and the puck flipped perfectly to the Devils logo...well, you just can't script a shot like that! Impressive!
Thanks, skyvan, this was the only remote I placed, the other HBO shooter placed one elsewhere as well. I did try to hang one on the truss at the beginning of the ringwalk to capture the back of the fighter walking to the ring with the fans hanging over cheering the fighter, but a light was added the day of the show that blocked the remote, so we took it down. Sometimes I do one off a ringpost on the ring which looks cool, but on a show of this magnitude, HBO brings in a corner slo-mo cam, so I can't place it. I may do the ringpost next week in Quebec though...
Thomas, thanks, I'm dying to shoot some hockey again, I did a bunch the beginning of this season, but with my HBO/ESPN/NFL schedule the last couple of weeks, I haven't done any. I think I'm doing one next week though...
I thought the Mark IV was overall just a better camera, colors, white balance, big difference in the focus IMO...It seemed to be a very nice camera, the high iso was also great, iso 6400 looked very clean...
Bryutas, I did have my Red Rutgers hat on, but I was not shooting ringside, we have two shooters at HBO, so the other one was ringside while I was on the first level. It's not a bad angle though, and I only shoot there two or three times a year, otherwise I'm ringside. I'll be back on the apron for the HBO show in Canada on the 28th...
