I went to other wildlife preserve in our local area and I usually don't go there oftern
because they are open only 9-12. But they have several ponds there so winter birds are arriving.
I practiced shooting BIF and though Egret was fairly easy to catch ,duckies were flying like a rocket and I got only a few descent shots.
I'll have to go there more often but eventually I'll have go to Salton Sea to catch more BIF shots. Duckies and Egret IF shots are my first.

I like the White-Crowned but I would agree with Lil that the last 3 are my favorites of the set. Your first ducks are Gadwalls Mr and Mrs and the second is Mrs. Shoveler.

When you shoot a BIF, do you set the len's focus limiter to infinity or to full?
Nice exposing the whites on the egrets, Hide. also really enjoyed the White crowned sparrow. Ducks are deceptively fast and not an easy subject to shoot in flight.

Thank you,Ken. Ducks are really fast flyers and I admire your and other FMers' excellent Duck IF shots.

Hide, I have it set to infinity and then I try to pre-focus on something about the same distance from me as the flyer will be. Of course that is not always possible but for me that works the best. The less the AF need to hunt the better
