Funny you should ask. Chris plus Lynn just dropped some shots at an abandoned field. They're sick (although I might be biased as it was my friends wedding) http://chrispluslynn.blogspot.com/

Gotcha. The widest I have is my 35L, hope that would work.
nope, definitely rent something in 20mm range (for FX). Trust me. Even wider if you can. It is not about filling the frame, it is about compressing background and there you need WWWWWWWIDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Sounds like Maguire. If the groom is stationed there, he should be able to make the arrangements to get you on the tarmac and in hangers. If not, you better call ahead to make arrangements. Make sure your passses are in order before you show up there. Good luck....and post some results.

Yeah, tarmac/hangers should be great places to shoot. I will definitely post some pictures after the wedding! Hope I won't disappoint.
So hmm.. I did the wedding. It was a little unorganized. So it ended up being:
We went to the air base, spent about 5 minutes, literally 5 minutes taking pictures with a model plane that was strapped down to the ground before the B&G told me they were going to be late to the ceremony. Here are two pictures of the plane..a little bit disappointed.
EDIT: wow..these look soft on web...but they are razor sharp on my computer
