Great use of hyperfocal lenght on the last one! I love it!

Hey Bryan,
Welcome to FM! It's great to have you posting.

Both of these shots ar very nice. You really handled the light well, and it can be a bit tough to handle back in that gorge.

Roman: It's nots hard to climb over the logs. Just pretend you are back in school and playing on the gym set.

Bryan

Beautiful captures here really like your comps and processing on these. If anything I would be tempted to play around with the cropping of the top on #2. I see you are from the Silverdale area, there are a lot of FM ers located around the Seattle area that get together now and then for some shooting.

Thanks to all for your friendly welcomes and comments. The critiques and suggestions are greatly appreciated. The longer I worked with these images the less I noticed the areas where improvements could still be made. So I really appreciate your fresh perspectives. It looks like I have a bit more room to improve these images. A couple shadow areas that are perhaps a bit too 'deep', a few highlights that are either distracting or completely 'blown', and perhaps trying some tweaks to the cropping.

Roman, I find your image both fascinating and disturbingly grotesque The log jam wasn't too difficult but it really helps to have all of your gear safely secured in/to a backpack that won't shift much. I think it also helped that I headed up the Gorge when the water was very low. I think the deepest pool was waist deep.

Nice work Bryan - I love the satin waters in that first shot. Definitely my favorite of the two.

Bryan....It is both. I just havent gotten the nerve to get over it fully. Slippery logs...just not confidence inspiring. Nice that you did brave it and came back with some solid images to show for the risk.
